The Eutopia blog

Welcome to Eutopia

Welcome to Eutopia! Or at least our blog.

We thought it fitting for our first blog post to explain the name, Eutopia. Eutopia literally means "a good place" (from the Greek "eu" meaning "good" and "topos" meaning place). That's in contrast with Utopia, which comes from "ou" meaning "no" + "topos" — literally, "no place."

So our Eutopia is about creating possible good places. It's not about aiming for impossible perfection. That's an important distinction also because along the way, it can get messy. We don't always get things right. Things may get worse before they get better.

Our superpower, to the extent we have one, is grit. Having a long-term belief in a good place lets us deal with inevitable setbacks. We are not afraid to course correct and learn from our mistakes.

To that end, we realize we have done a pretty good job launching Eutopian initiatives but have pretty much sucked wind in talking about our projects and the philosophy behind them.

So this blog is one attempt to course correct. We hope you'll join us on our journey to build a good place for us all — or at least follow us along.

Warmly,
Gigi and Albert
