Eutopia · a good place
We're pulling a better future forward
Progress for the benefit of all
Our projects in the Hudson Valley, New York demonstrate what a more generous, sustainable, and trusting world can look like. We plant seeds we hope keep growing long after we're gone.
Our philosophy
An optimistic vision + the attention to build it
We are building Eutopia, which means a "good place." Eutopia comes from the Greek "eu" (good) and "topos" (place). That's unlike Utopia, which means "nowhere." Our good place isn't a fantasy — it's something we build, one initiative at a time, making our communities, our regions, and ultimately all of Earth a good place for humans and other species alike.
Our values
Optimism
Problems are solvable, and a better world is achievable, so we approach them with conviction and hope.
Fun
As we build a world in which we can all thrive, we want to have lots of fun along the way. We call it "serious fun."
Attention
Attention is the foundation of all personal and collective agency, so we commit to the lifelong cultivation of our capacity for presence.
Community
Interpersonal connection is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life, so we build strong local communities rooted in our shared humanity, celebrating our individual diversity.
Trust
Progress depends on cooperation, so we lead with trust — keeping our commitments, assuming good faith, and supporting one another across our differences.
Curiosity
Understanding how the world works is how we improve it, so we stay curious — approaching ideas with humility, creativity, and openness to criticism.
We work in concentric circles: caring first for ourselves, then those closest to us, then our community, then the world -- sometimes in sequence, sometimes all at once.
